Hello there! Chrissy here, one-half of the husband and wife team behind Weddings by Sal and Bella. We are Pittsburgh-based wedding photographers and high school sweethearts, paying homage to our shared Italian heritage and playful nature with the name Weddings by Sal and Bella.
Sal and Bella were our high school nicknames for each other – young love and cringe alert! (Fond memories from sneaking out late to saying that first “I love you” in a Wendy's parking lot, IYKYK, right?).
But we're all grown up now. We've been married for fifteen years and have three kids! (How can we have kids? We ARE kids!) Our children are Olivia, Elijah, and Gianni – coming back to our love of all things Italian again with our little's name! So you non-high school sweetheart couples, we understand you too, the seasons of life.
We've been full-time wedding photographers for 14 years, photographing 345 weddings. My favorite part of a wedding is capturing the joy, celebration, moments, and emotions while Matthew likes to test the limits and innovation with an emphasis on candids.
Our photography is fun, fresh, and natural – we strive for exceptional images AND we want you to have an unforgettable positive experience with us. I've been told I have a wonderful laugh and you will hear it throughout the wedding day as I immerse myself in your celebration. We blend seamlessly in with your event, may it be a backyard affair in the fixer-upper you and your fiance now call your first home or at the country club your family has belonged to for generations.
We aim to capture your wedding moments – dancing beneath the string lights on the backyard patio – the patio you watched your fiance pour in the hot sun last summer – toiling to bring this yard to life for your wedding. The first steps on your father's arm as you walk down the aisle, the ceremony overlooking the courts where he first taught you to swing a tennis racket when you were five.
It's our honor and privilege as a married team to capture and witness your first day as a married team.

BELLA ~ CHRISSY
10 Random things about me:
1. Matthew & I went on our first date on April 10, 2005. We went to Pizza Hut and then hit the bowling alley. I was not a fan of those two things, but since I did like Matthew I went and we had a nice time.
2. I was voted friendliest in high school. I've always been really outgoing! I love talking to people and making friends!
3. I'd rather be barefoot. Seriously, I really don't like to wear shoes. My grandpap Ray was always yelling at me to get my shoes on as a kid!
4. My favorite movie is Fried Green Tomatoes. I can literally quote the entire movie. I auditioned for my school musical with a monolog from the movie.
5. I LOVE playing video games. I mean my dad almost named me Zelda... video game love runs in the family!!
6. I love music & I am always singing! My dad always had music playing while I was growing up & my mom is pretty much a karaoke queen. So I've got a million awesome Spotify playlists!
7. I would rather stay in at night and snuggle and watch one of my favorite TV Shows... Scrubs, That 70s show, Game of Thrones, Gilmore Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond & SVU (yes Matthew watches them all with me & we laugh and quote them all the time.)
8. I collect teapots. My favorite one is shaped like a swan!
9. I have a maxi dress obsession... I have a ton of them and there is a good chance you will catch me in one at your wedding!
10. I dream of traveling! Once our kids are older I have big plans for seeing the world!

SAL ~ MATTHEW
10 Random things about me:
1. I love working with my hands. I always have some sort of wood or metalworking project going on.
2. I am a car enthusiast. I enjoy driving. I have had many project cars that I have fixed up over the years including a 1982 AMC Eagle, a 1993 Toyota Landcruiser, & a 1957 Dodge Truck.
3. I spend a good amount of time at our local gym, Crossfit Artifact. It's a great outlet for my competitive nature, keeps me healthy & active, and I also coach there once a week.
4. My two favorite movies are 1937's Captains Courageous with Spencer Tracy & 2004's Hidalgo with Viggo Mortensen
5. I also enjoy playing video games. I replay the HALO series once a year. Skyrim & Civilization are favorites too.
6. When I am not photographing weddings I like to photograph landscapes. Nature is very peaceful to me.
7. I am a huge FOODIE. There is nothing better than sitting down to an awesome meal either at a restaurant or something I cooked up in my own kitchen. My favorite meal is Sea Bass with Risotto.
8. I love learning new things, anything I can do to keep my brain active. Math & Physics based subjects are my preference. The harder the challenge the more enjoyable!
9. I enjoy travel. I have been to Mexico & Jamaica. I like to stay out of the tourist areas and really immerse myself in the local culture. I also have many places I would like to visit in the future including Ireland, New Zealand & Italy.
10. I'll try anything at least once.
