A photography duo that understands that your love story is just as unique as you.
We are Matthew & Chrissy the husband-and-wife team behind Weddings by Sal and Bella.
We are Pittsburgh-based wedding photographers and high school sweethearts who wanted to pay tribute to our Italian roots and playful personalities with our business name.
Sal and Bella were our high school nicknames – young love at its finest (cue the cringe-worthy moments, like sneaking out and sharing that first “I love you” in a Wendy’s parking lot, IYKYK!).
Fast forward to today: we’ve been married for 17 years, have three kids (yes, we’re still figuring out how we became parents!), and our kiddos – Olivia, Elijah, and Gianni – carry on our love for all things Italian.
We’ve been full-time wedding photographers for 16 years and have captured over 350 weddings.
Chrissy loves the emotions and moments that make the day so special, while Matthew likes to test the limits and innovation with an emphasis on candids
Our style? It's fun, fresh, and natural. We’re here to not only deliver exceptional images but also give you an unforgettable experience.
We blend seamlessly in with your event, may it be a backyard affair in the fixer-upper you and your fiancé now call your first home or at the country club your family has belonged to for generations.
We aim to capture your wedding moments – dancing beneath the string lights on the backyard patio – the patio you watched your fiance pour in the hot sun last summer – toiling to bring this yard to life for your wedding. The first steps on your father's arm as you walk down the aisle, the ceremony overlooking the courts where he first taught you to swing a tennis racket when you were five.
It's our honor and privilege as a married team to capture and witness your first day as a married team.

once upon a time
We met in 2005, back when we were just two high school kids with big dreams. We became best friends, and little did we know that our shared laughs, adventures, and love for each other would grow into something so beautiful. Fast forward 20 years, and here we are, still going strong, with a legacy we never imagined. From those early days to now, we’ve built a life filled with love, memories, and a bond that has only deepened with time. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come, but we’re so grateful for every moment along the way.

It’s the one that helped launch our business, sparking the journey that led us to where we are today. I'm a total foodie - I will notice all the time and care you took in curating your reception meal selections. Whether at home cooking sea bass with risotto or out on the town at Pittsburgh's up-and-coming restaurant scene - I have an appreciation for the culinary arts
I'm drawn to photography as it incorporates math and physics, which were always my favorite subjects in school. When I'm not photographing weddings, my favorite genre is landscapes as I find peace in nature.
One of my favorite experiences as a wedding photographer was my first destination wedding in Oaxaca, Mexico many years ago and showcasing the beauty of the culture in the couple's images.
