Elle & Mike’s October Engagement Session in Oakland: A Golden Hour to Remember
As the crisp autumn air settled over Oakland, Elle and Mike’s engagement session was nothing short of magical. From the soft, glowing light of golden hour to the timeless elegance of their outfits, every detail set the stage for a stunning prelude to their November 2025 wedding.
We kicked things off at the Mellon Institute, a grand architectural gem that serves as the perfect backdrop for an elegant engagement shoot. As the sun dipped low, the soft golden light bathed the building’s majestic columns, casting long shadows and a warm glow over the couple. Elle, looking absolutely radiant in her classic black dress, and Mike, dapper in his sleek black suit, looked like they had stepped straight out of a magazine.
The duo’s chemistry was palpable as they moved effortlessly through the frames, their love and connection visible in every smile and glance. Golden hour light has a way of bringing out the best in people, and with Elle and Mike, it felt like magic. We took our time, capturing them against the Mellon Institute’s architectural beauty, making sure every frame showcased their elegance and joy. After basking in that beautiful golden light, we made our way to the nearby museum.
Finally we ended up at the Phipps Hall of Botany. The lush greenery and landscaping offers a natural atmosphere, providing a perfect contrast to the sleek, sophisticated look Elle and Mike brought to the session. The couple moved gracefully among the plants, and you could tell their connection was as deep as the roots of the plants surrounding them.
As we wrapped up the shoot, I couldn’t help but feel excited for what’s to come in November 2025, when they will tie the knot. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding day is going to be amazing!! Elle and Mike, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both!
Looking forward to your wedding day, and wishing you both all the love and happiness in the world!
