Payel & Shripaad’s Magnificent Indian Wedding at The Westin Pittsburgh
This wedding was a stunning celebration of love, culture, and energy — the kind of day that dreams are made of. Held at the luxurious Westin Hotel in Pittsburgh, this Indian wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and exuberant joy. From the grand baraat procession to the rich colors of the decor, every detail of the celebration reflected the couple’s personalities and their connection with family and culture.
We started off the day with the couple’s first look. The gorgeous greenery wall in the lobby of The Westin was the perfect spot!
The Baraat: A Grand Entrance
The energy of the day began to build early on, as Shripaad made his grand entrance in the traditional baraat procession. Shri arrived at the Westin on horseback, surrounded by his family and friends dancing joyously to the beats of dhol drums. The procession was a beautiful sight, full of color, excitement, and lively energy, as everyone celebrated the groom’s arrival in true Bollywood-style fashion.
The Westin’s grand entrance offered the perfect setting for this jubilant tradition, with guests lining the way to cheer and shower Shripaad with petals. The sheer energy and excitement from the baraat created an atmosphere of celebration that set the tone for the rest of the day.
A Beautiful Mandap and Golden Decor
The wedding ceremony itself took place beneath an exquisitely designed mandap done by the amazing Tara at Peacock creations that seemed to glow with warmth and opulence. The mandap, draped in rich fabrics and adorned with gold accents, was an elegant centerpiece that captured the grandeur of the occasion.
Flowers in shades of cream, pink, and red were tastefully arranged in cascading arrangements, filling the space with beauty. The cream and pink hues added a touch of softness to the otherwise bold red and gold color palette, creating a perfect balance between traditional elegance and modern flair.
The Ceremony: Traditions and New Beginnings
The wedding ceremony was steeped in tradition, with Payel and Shripaad exchanging vows under the mandap as they were surrounded by their families and closest friends. From the sacred fire to the exchanging of garlands, every ritual was performed with reverence and grace, creating a beautiful and spiritual ambiance.
Celebrating the New Couple
Once the vows were exchanged and the couple was officially married, the celebration kicked into full gear. The Westin’s ballroom transformed into a lively dance floor, where the newlyweds and their guests danced late into the night. Traditional Indian songs played alongside modern hits, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere where everyone — from the youngest to the oldest — was on their feet, celebrating the union of two souls.
