Let all that you do be done in love. [1 Corinthians 16:14]
That was the theme of Melanie & Rauhit’s wedding at the beautiful New Castle Country Club. This sweet pair met each other in college during a particularly difficult semester. They had so much in common and hit it off right away.
From the groom: ” I loved hearing Melanie’s thoughts on everything from music, to movies to her schoolwork, and the day I first heard her sing I knew I wanted to hear her sing for the rest of my life.
I loved that Melanie’s dad came in to practice bringing the veil down over her face.
Rauhit & Melanie chose to do a first look before the ceremony.
“Years of preparation and planning and working together came to this. We were glad to have had this private moment together before the wedding.” – Melanie.
These two were so natural in front of the camera.
We could have photographed them all day!
The ceremony took place in the ballroom of the New Castle Country Club.
Melanie’s dad beamed with pride as he gave his daughter away.
A string quartet played throughout the ceremony. The couple sang a hymn together before exchanging rings.
I highly recommend if you have a shaded (we don’t want to squint from the sun!) but also evenly lit outdoor space, you should consider doing your family portraits outside like Melanie did. Look how beautifully the turnout!
We took a few more images of the couple & bridal party before heading into the reception.
Always up for some fun!
From the couple: “We love traveling together. Our wedding day is just the beginning of a lifelong journey together, and so we wanted some of the decorations, like the table names and the guest book, to reflect that. Each of the tables was named after a city that we have traveled to together, or that we will be visiting together on our honeymoon. We also wanted to honor our cultures… we included snacks from Singapore and India, where our families are from, and from America, where we were raised. “
The couple surprised guests by serenading each other as they were introduced for the first time to the reception.
The lovebirds did a choreographed first dance to the delight of their guests.
Being able to dance with her father, who lives on the other side of the world, meant a lot to Melanie. Melanie’s paternal grandfather passed away. So towards the end of their father-daughter dance, her father asked his older brother who is now the head of the Seah family to dance with her in their father’s place. It was very touching.
This receptions was a ton of fun! Everyone was out on the dancefloor having a blast.
The final event of the night was a lantern release.
Melanie’s old college a cappella group sang their traditional send-off/blessing song “The Lord Bless You”. It was a beautiful end to the evening.
Thank you so much for choosing us to document your wedding day. We wish you many years of health & happiness.
