Reflecting on 2019

In January I wasn’t able to complete this post as I had originally planned. I usually post a yearly review of the wedding season to reflect on all the wonderful moments captured that year, but we were so busy at the beginning of 2020 I never got to finish it. I was so looking forward to 2020, as I know many were. We had a lot of great weddings lined up and were generally excited to get back to photographing after a long winter. The universe however had other plans! After covid19 hit, it essentially decimated the wedding industry. Our wedding season was virtually canceled or postponed to 2021. This week I found myself really missing photography. While I’ve had a couple of small weddings, and it has been nice spending time with my kiddos and doing home improvements I’m really longing for the memories made on wedding days. So I decided to look back and reflect on 2019. Take a look back with me to some of our favorite moments of last year.

2019 was a wonderfully joyous year for us. We traveled to New York City for a family vacation and to be photographed by my talented friend, Emily Burke.

We celebrated with many couples in 2019. Newly married couples, couples expecting children, and even long-married couples. It is something I am so thankful for, to be invited in to photograph these special times.

Thank you for taking a trip back through 2019 with us. I truly hope that COVID soon dissipates and we can return to sharing in the celebrations of love at the end of 2020 & 2021.
