It’s Ashley & John’s Renaissance Pittsburgh wedding! This was our final wedding of the 2019 wedding season, and boy did we go out with a bang!
Ashley & I briefly met way back in 2012 when she was housesitting for our bride, Meredith. When she called me last year to discuss our availability for wedding photography, she told me she was so impressed with our work, and that the sole action of me confidently placing Meredith into 4 inches of fresh powdered snow, despite the horrified look on the faces of the bridal party, she knew I would one day be her photographer. I guess you could say I left an impression hahaha.
Ashley & John’s wedding was perfect. It was romantic, fun & full of love. Here are some of our favorite images from the wedding.
Ashley & her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house. The girls celebrated with champagne. Even Dunkin the family dog got dressed for the occasion.
The room was full of emotion as Ashley’s mom and Matron of honor helped her into her gown.
I later found out this image holds an even more important significance than I knew while taking it.
From the bride: “My grandmother has serve dementia and was unable to attend my wedding. She is one of the most important people in my life, so I had a really hard time coming to grips with the fact that she was going to be unable to attend. I was so sad she couldn’t be there for such an important part of my life and the events leading up to it. Before the wedding, my mom gave me her necklace to wear so I had a little piece of her with me.”
Ashley’s dad had one request for the wedding day. He wanted to be surprised and see his little girl all dressed up for the first time. So we did a first look. It was so sweet.
How stunning is this woman??? Her Blush, by Hayley Paige gown, was gorgeous. I love that it is a little different than a lot of the gowns we see.
Proud parents!
The guys went out to breakfast at Pamela’s on the Southside before getting ready. John’s brother, Michael, was there to make sure he was camera ready for the big day!
I love a good image of a family laughing and having fun before the wedding. Its something I wish we always had time to do!
John had such a sweet smile as he watched the bride & her dad walk down the aisle.
St. Killian’s Parish in Cranberry is a beautiful church. I love that its full of light.
They were calling for quite a bit of rain on the day of the wedding, so we decided to be safe and head to the Columns of Mellon Institute. It is a classic backdrop but there are also covered options that make it the perfect option for rain.
Posies by Patti never disappoints with her bouquets. They are gorgeous!
This group was so fun, so we had to do one more fun photo!
The Renaissance Hotel in Pittsburgh is always beautiful. I loved the romantic feel that the staff created for this wedding. The candlelight and colors were perfect.
I love this shot that Matthew snapped of all the guests enjoying the couple’s first dance.
I always like the toasts. I love getting those reaction photos of the couple and the guests as the toasters relay their message to the couple.
I love DJ Eric Schiemer. He is a blast to work with. He knows how to keep the reception lively and fun!
He brought the house down!
and they danced the night away!
A couple night shots in the rain! These two are troopers!
Ashley & John, we loved working with you two. It was so wonderful celebrating with you two. We wish you many years of health and happiness!
