These two!! I cannot even handle the perfection that was Erin & Jason’s Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall wedding. All the little details came together to create an awesome wedding experience. We had two people who are so in love. A hilarious group of friends to surround them on the big day and the ideal August Saturday in Pittsburgh.
We connected with these two right away when we met last year. I just love their story.
From the Bride: “We met at a mutual friend’s house during one of their annual Friendsgiving parties in Nov 2017. We had both been friends and ran in the same group for a number of years, but now we were both single at the same time. Jason overheard this and then grabbed some hair gel from the best man’s bathroom and proceeded to “make his move”. We chatted about How I Met Your Mother and realized we had many things in common and the rest was history.”
We started the wedding day at the Wyndham University Center for wedding prep.
The couple was married at St. Mary’s Church St. John of God Parish in McKees Rocks. It is Erin’s family church. It was extra special to hold the ceremony there because Erin & Jason joined a long list of family to be married at the church including her parents.
We headed to Pitt University Campus for bridal party portraits.
This group was an absolute trip to photograph. They were jovial, fun, and supportive of the couple. Definitely squad goals!
Gidas Flowers took care of the gorgeous bouquets. They always do beautiful work.
This group was up for some fun. I love these funny group pics.
We could have photographed these two for days. They are so in love and just a joy to photograph.
Jason knew just the way to make Erin laugh.
The couple chose Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall for Jason’s love of history. It also happened to be where Erin’s high school graduation was held.
“We loved the high ceilings, the natural light, and how everyone was able to move around and not feel crowded. We wanted everyone to enjoy the architecture that makes Pittsburgh feel like Pittsburgh. We also loved being able to utilize the balcony and the awesome views it provided the guests.” -Erin
The feel of the reception was very soft and romantic. I loved the pinks & golds they chose for their color palette.
Erin’s father started off the evening with a welcome speech to the crowd and the couple.
The maid of honor, Kristin, followed with a touching speech.
Packy, Jason’s best man followed with a hilarious speech that included many fun anecdotes.
I love capturing guest reactions throughout the day. This is one of my favorite images.
After dinner, we headed out for a couple of evening portraits outside of Soldiers & Sailors.
The first dance.
DJ Eric Schiemer of Schiemer Entertainment, one of my faves in the business, was in charge of the entertainment for the evening and boy did he deliver.
The final dance of the night was “God Bless the USA” which has special significance to the couple as they were engaged on Independence Day.
From the couple: ” July 4th, 2018. We always host an annual holiday party and on this morning we were casually making breakfast before we had to start setting up. It was a quiet intimate moment in the living room just between us (although neither of us remembers what was said besides “yes”) … then we got to celebrate with our friends and family for the rest of the day! “
Erin & Jason we had the absolute best time celebrating your big day with the two of you. We wish you many happy years and cant wait to see the adventure marriage takes you on.
